In the popular CBD (cannabidiol) industry, you can find CBD products available in several forms, which allows you to use the method that suits you best. You could ingest it by taking edibles, apply an infused cream topically, place CBD oil under your tongue, or smoke it. With your goals in mind, let’s look more closely at two commons, but very different, forms: CBD oil and CBD flower.
CBD Oil: What is it and how is it used?
CBD oil is extracted mostly from the flowers of the hemp plant. Our full-spectrum CBD oil is made via the supercritical CO2 extraction process, while our isolate products use the ethanol extraction process. The CO2 extraction process uses intense pressure and temperature change to push CO2 through the hemp to strip it of oils, waxes, etc. The result is a completely pure extract that doesn’t require additional filtering or evaporation. The ethanol extraction process uses alcohol to draw out the cannabinoids, which are then separated out and infused into our oils. Our facility is GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) certified and is often inspected for quality control.
It can be tricky to determine the right dose for your particular needs, so consult an expert for guidance. To use CBD oil, measure the dose in the dropper and place the oil under your tongue. Let it sit there for 30 to 60 seconds before swallowing.
CBD Flower: What is it and how is it used?
CBD flower (sometimes called hemp flower or CBD buds) contains very high concentrations of compounds found in hemp plants, including terpenes, flavonoids, and CBD, and they look and smell an awful lot like cannabis flower, or marijuana. CBD flower, however, has very low levels of THC (less than .3% by law) and therefore does not get you high as marijuana does.
Some people find the buds, more than other forms, have a relaxing effect. CBD flower could be considered a good alternative to pot since it does not cause some of the unwanted feelings, such as paranoia, associated with using weed. The more popular ways of consuming CBD flower include vaping, smoking, and adding it as an ingredient in various recipes.
With so many ways to get the therapeutic benefits of CBD, we suggest trying various formulations. See what works for you and your body. You might find some days you feel like a smoking flower and other days you’d prefer to get your CBD dose from gummies or oil. However, you choose to use CBD, do so wisely—always do your research and buy from a reputable, trusted manufacturer.
